Newbie doing his research...
1st: Is there a good web resource that will tell me the model year differences say from 68/69/70? Maybe even some color scheme info - - if not that, maybe a book y'all like that I can get on Amazon?
2nd: Is there anything I should be looking for - anything that tends to fail on these cars - or really eviil things folks tend to do to these cars that might not be obvoius...?
Thanks much!

For an answer to #1, go to a bookstore and get a current copy of "Corvette Black Book"
A good summary of model years here.

Just a quick piece of info; if you're into a completely stock car, then 1969 is probably the year you're looking at. It's the only C3 model year that had factory-available side-pipes. If you don't care about being stock, you could always put side-pipes on any C3, although it's fairly expensive and would require a moderate amount of body work to the rear.
I agree that the black book is a great resource to get an idea of how these cars came off the line. For 1968-9, Rick Bizzoco's Stingray Guidebook is the bible, but it's pretty expensive, about 70 bucks at Crane's Corvette or Paragon. Most Barnes and Noble bookstores will usually have some good Corvette restoration books with color pictures if you're jonesing to get started today.
I just bought my C3 after researching and shoping around for a long time. They're out there; my only advice is to hold out till you get exactly what you want.
Good luck,
Joe
