I have installed header super comps on my 68, and got the alternator brackets as well. My original alternator support had the two arms, and then also mounted in the manifold. With the new bracket it appears that the lower support arm needs to be removed. Has anyone ever encountered this? I am guessing I can remove the lower arm and everything will be just fine.
Any suggestions would help end my overly **** confussion.
I can't help it, I think I spend just as much time staring at the work I am doing to make certain it is absolutely perfect as I do physically turning wrenches. Hey, if there is ever another owner of this car, they can sleep easy knowing that everythink I touched was done correctly - unlike the dolt who had the car before me... slacker!
Bubba might have left a bracket off my car!!!
I've got a base that bolts to the front of the left Head
And the adjusting arm that goes to the Waterpump
It's been working like that without any problems!!
I have Hooker Super Comps on my '69, & I use the stock alt bracket for a '70-71 along with the curved arm that attaches to the water pump for a perfect fit.
