Default Sidepipe and rocker panel question

OK... my last new thread for a bit....

I noticed that my mouting bolts for my sidepipes are sticking out a little further than the mounting holes for the rocker panels I am in search of. Is this going to create an issue or is this how it is supposed to be?

as always - thanks in advance.

i just did this last week when i put the STS baffles in. BTW make sure u put antisieze between headers and sidepipe or you'll never get em apart later. after u tighten down the mounting bolts u don't want more than 1/2 inch of thread past the nut or they will vibrate against the panel so just hackem off. u can use a sawsall for the rear bolts as long as u have the rear tires off. also u probably need to notch the side panel where u tighten the bolt on the sidepipe to the header. i got rid of the hex bolt and put a SS allen head bolt in there for more clearance. you'll love the sidepipes

I just trimmed the bolts about half inch and then trimmed the rocker panels. Tough part is that you cannot get the rocker panels in after the pipes are on. So, you have to slide them in, bolt ont he pipes, then screw in the rocker panels.
Helped to put the car on stands and take the wheels off. That way, I could slide the panels back and forth to make the job easier.

Had to do it this way since I never installed the rockers originally while waiting to do the paint.

Must passengers side was ten times easier than the drivers. Lot more clearance on that side. Got to love GM specs. Plus that little flare behind the front wheels makes it a b***h to work it in there.

But now they are in and I doubt I'll be pulling them anytime soon.
