Default Shift point questions on TH400..

Ok... if you saw previous posts, I needed to install a kickdown switch to my '77. Did that tonight and set it to activate at about half throttle. Tested with voltmeter and now working well. Took the car for a run with the G-Tech RR and it is shifting the same as before the kickdown was installed. Shifting from 1-2 at 5200 rpm and 2-3 at 4200 rpm. I thought installing the lickdown was supposed to affect the shift points? Anyway, it is shifting from 2-3 way too early and I would also like higher 1-2 shift. If I get the kit to adjust governor, will it raise 1-2 and 2-3 evenly or can I get it to shift at same RPM for both shifts? If you know of any past threads or links that may help, they are also appreciated!

My experience with this was a few years back but I remember that some adjustment can be done by turning the screw inside the modulator at the trans after you disconnect the hose. However, it's relatively minor as I recall.

There are weights inside the trans that play a bigger role in shiftpoints. I went to a local performance trans shop & had them set it up. They got it just right- it shifted right when I wanted it to at full throttle & made my passes at the strip much more consistant. I know this doesn't exactly answer your question but I hope it helps.
