this is my first vette and the project is official underway, i pulled and sold the 350/350 out of it friday and started looking at what i was getting in to. yesterday i stuffed the 454 and new T-350 in it and started mounting up the YSi trim supercharger, the 3/8 stainless head plate the kit came w/mounts the blower to high and the discharge tube would stick though the hood. i had all ready plasma cut a new plate that lowers the superchager 2" for the 87 camaro it was in, but this sets the housing on the upper control arm by an 1/8 of an inch. i was going to cut another plate to raise it up by a 1/2", or i could just notch the upper arm. the other small thing is that the lower blower pulley just hit the front K-member, so i will be notching it by 3/4".
most likely i will end up cutting a new blower plate just to see if i can make the kit work w/as little changing to the car as needed. the good news was that buy moving the alternator to the lower right side i can still fab up brackets to put the A/C compressor back on! the bad news is theres no way the P/S pump is going back on.
the really net thing is that if i put fuel injection on it, it would easily fit under the stock hood!! i would really like to do that but doing a blow though deal it's so much cheaper and easier to tune and drive.
when i get a new hard drive in my home PC i will put up some pics., it really looks mean all stuffed in there!
Definitely post some pics, I would love to see it. How does that blower setup work? Is there a box around the carb? Do you have to modify the carb at all?

yea the carb has to be modified, it's not that bad. there was a site that had all the mods, but i lost it. if your going to get in to bigger boost i would have a pro carb built, it's worth every dime. the kit came with the enclosurer, but i'm most likely going to run a hat.

I really think Vortech is missing the boat here. There are plenty of C3ers, me included, that would purchase a blower if it was setup and fit our cars.

i know, if my deal was a sbc it would fit, this car has the same amount of space as my 87 camaro. the biggest thing i have seen so far w/the bbc is that the blower is too close to the upper a-arm on the drivers side, it's going to be a tight fit. the carb inclosure that the kit came with is out, it's way to tall. the bonnet won't fit under the stock hood either, but it will be lower.
