Drag racing BFG Radial TAs!?!?!
Two years ago (the last time I went to the track) the car ran a 14.7 @ 95.5mph. It should run a little stronger this time.

(Fevre: We should be getting to Milan about 5:30-6:00pm. Give me a call on my cell sometime during the day if you want to meet up with us. It's a private track rental, so there will be plenty of time for all the runs you could want.)
Anyone want to take bets on time/mph? (~3000pounds and 360rwhp)

If you get the 60' time into the mid 1.60's - I'd say 11.98 @ 116 mph.
If you won't get the 60' times below 1.85 - you should end up running 12.30 - 12.50 @ 114 mph..

Remember, Radial TAs and 360rwhp...

Remember, Radial TAs and 360rwhp...
The best possible tire pressure on BFG Radial TA's was around 18 - 20 psi...

Good luck hooking up.
I was always under the impression that less pressure was better,
but apparently I have very little experience. I was thinking like 10-15 psi.

true... but if you live close to the Bradenton track - you can get 1.80's 60' times with street tires... They put tons of VHT on the track every Test & Tune night...
Far away tracks suck though. Bradenton track is an hour away from you isnt it GS?

It wasn't a great night. The first shakedown run went ok. 2.2 60', 14.4 @ 96. Faster than the car ever went before and that was only 3/4 throttle, shifting ~5500 and a very easy launch. Second run, 2.1 60', shift at 6k, first, second, third, passing my buddy's Mustang on the second half of the track, fourth, back on the gas 3/4 of the way down the track.... no gas pedal.... revs falling.... speed falling.... damn! The nut on the end of the throttle cable fell off the cable so it wouldn't pull the throttle body open.
I ran a 13.62 @ 94. When I shifted to 4th I was doing ~105, so it was a pretty good run if it would have held together. Now the second problem... Pushing the car back to the paddock, I ran over my foot with the rear tire. I don't think it's broken, but my heel is purple and it hurts like a b**ch. If it's still bad tomorrow, I'm going to go to the ER.
Oh well. At least that time was a full second better than my friends with their Mustangs, 2.5 seconds faster than another friend's Lotus Elise, and 3 better than the last friend's SVT Focus. For anyone who knows who he is, John Colletti was there with some SVT guys and a new Ford GT. Colleti wasn't fast in it but one of his guys ran an 11.99 in it.
Fast time of the night was a guy in a ProStock car that ran 6.8 @ somewhere around 160. He only ran once and I think he was asked not to run again.
So, that's my story. Thanks for your interest.

Not to shabby. Any 1/8 mile times on the second past. Might be able to calculate it that way.
I forgot to mention that I rigged the throttle cable to work to get me home. It was good enough but I didn't want to risk losing the only nut and bolt that I had in the toolbox making another pass.
Lostpatrolman: 3000# was my guess without me in it. The scales weren't open so I couldn't weigh it tonight. It could be even less, I won't know until I can find a scale.
