For those who have painted their calipers, what paint did you use and how is it holding up?
Disclaimer - I am not a ricer and I am not painting them hot pink or anything. I just want to restore them back the the cast grey color. I have ralley wheels so they won't show.
I used regular enamel paint from the hardware store. To keep them looking new I shoot them every year or two but that isn't needed (It can be done without taking them off the car by masking a bit). Just keep brake fluid off of them, it's the best paint stripper around.
Eastwood sells caliper paint. It requires mixing two cans, so I suppose it's an epoxy paint. I think some of the Corvette parts places sell the same stuff. It's good to get a paint that specially formulated for brakes so that it hopefully won't be dissolved by leaking brake fluid. For Eastwood, www.Eastwood.com
Thanks for the suggestions.
I looked at the Eastwood stuff and thats probally what I'll do...haven't decided yet. I use DOT5, it doesn't eat paint but I do need to make sure they are clean clean clean. Paint doesn't like silicon.
