ok , I'm just about to the end of the rope. As soon as I turn the key to the on postion(lights up dash) , I blow my trn sig / back up fuse. All new wiring (except A/C wiring).
Here's what I done so far, disconnected the back half of the car's wiring , disconnected the steering column , disconnected the back up safety switch at the auto shifter(wasn't sure if that was part of the fuse or not) , my front trn signal are not hooked up(haven't purchased the two pig tails req) , I have now removed most of my dash and I'm no closer............someone put me out of my misery
The only thing I can suggest is to obtain an electrical schematic on your car and retrace the circuit causing the blown fuse. Sounds like something is grounding out when turned on. So assuming everything it hooked up properly, look for any wires rubbing on metal, etc.
To the email address listed on your website. It's simplified schematic I made for my '68. Hopefully it's somewhat similar.

Tobdo . your post says All New Wiring? R&R'd? Might have a hot hooked to grnd. Pull all your lamps in the circuits in question and then apply power to the circuits. Blown fuse ='s bad harness. No blow . replace the bulbs 1 at a time. Blown fuse ='s bad circuit. Check that the wires conform to the color code with respect to polarity. ie +to+ & gnd to gnd
OK, you pulled the 1x2 inch shaped rectangle plug to the rear harness, and it's still blowing when you turn on the ignition???
pull the harness off the headlight switch.....still do it??? bet not....
your problem is in the front end of the car....
so go to the front and pull the headlamps....
then I bet it's the turn signal bulbs/sockets....
after that, the side marker lights.....
no need to strip harness coverings....allmost bet on it, not unless someone has installed a NO BLO fuse....then the wiring is melted, and all bets are off....
You say you have have not hooked up your front turn signals..no pigtails right?? Is there a chance that 1 of the 4 wires is grounded out against something??? Just a thought! Joe!
The headlight switch or the headlights themselves didn't efect anything , I going to try and call M&H (manufacturer of harness) and see if they can give me any insight?
I called the guys at M&H , wow if you need any help on your harness talk to these guys , the guy talked to me about 20 mins (electric 101) , told the places the problem could be , the flasher over behind pass dash was the problem , i had zip tied the flasher to a metal bracket , poping the fuse every time.
