My garage is underground and not heated. Stays about 35 deg. F. during the coldest part of the winter up here in the garage. How much gas should I leave in my car? Should I start it every once in a while or is that unnecessary? Thanks for the advice.
Fill it, stabilize the fuel, and don't start it until warm weather comes back. Even if you run it until it's completely warmed up, every time you shut it off more moisture accumulates. Change the oil just before storing it so all the internal parts get a nice fresh coat of oil.
Get a box of baking soda.
Crack the top and lay it between the seats.
When hot days turn up from time to time and moistures pops out of nowhere, the baking soda in the box will soak it up!!!
sounds like you guys are putting a boat away for then winter .Let me tell you all the over work thats what i do to my boat every year and it runs great every spring .you can also hand mildew bags in it if you want you can purchase them at any marine store
speaking of boats, you can get fogging spray to protect the inside of the cylinders from moisture. the only problem I ever had was animals - hang some boxes of moth ***** around - punch holes thru to let the aroma out. joe
Fill up the tank, stabalize it, run the motor a few minutes to get the stabul into the float bowls, shut if down and forget about it till spring.
