While sitting at a stop light today I noticed that you can feel a pulse in my brake pedal. Its not major but it is regular and happens every time you are applying the brakes, in gear or not. I figure it is a vacuum problem but should I be concerned?
I think it is a common problem - most likely related to either rotor lateral run out (I gotta get me a dial indicator) or rotor surface contamination. I have read some good info on the topic (maybe Baer or search re rotor / brake pad bedding).
If you jack it up and remove the wheels on suspect offending axle you can turn the rotor and see if the surface goes in and out with respect to the calipers. The dial indicator measures the amount of lateral run out - shouldn't be much....
edit - sounds like your pulsing is while stopped? wouldn't be what i mention above then ... check your vacumn with a vacumn gauge?
