finally got some website issues cleared up, so here's a pic of my mostly assembled engine. I'm not using these valve covers, and I still need to paint the intake (it's not bolted down). I'm placing a giant order for odds and ends tomorrow, and I should have it back in the car and be driving before Thanksgiving.

Note of caution here!
Looks like under the front of that intake, you've got the traditional neoprene black gskt with the tabs that hang over the edge of the block. since the intake is not bolted down now, do yourself a favor and toss those things front and rear!
Forgive me if it's a shadow and I'm being an alarmist but if you put the engine together with those gaskets fore and aft you'll have at least one oil leak, maybe two. Right off the bat.

Looking good but when is your thanksgiving?? Ours came and went.
1. I just used those gaskets to hold the intake up so the mating surfaces on it and the heads wouldn't get scratched. They're not RTV'd in place or anything. Just sitting there.
2. Thanksgiving is about a month away (November 25).
3. For those that asked, it's a mild (balanced) 355 now. I went with a little beefier cam than stock (300hp). Factory heads were treated to new valves, springs, etc, and roller rockers.
