My C-3 Air Conditioning Project Part Two
[/IMG] This next shot is of the new unit in its final resing place. Not a lot of room to work here, so you must make as many connections as possible on the work bench and with the unit on the floor of the car. The directions from Classic Air were excellent guidance here. Since there are air outlets on the back for the heater, they had to be run and connected before inserting the unit here. Not easy!

[/IMG] This is a shot of the connections for the power unit from the engine compartment side. A metal plate covers these fittings as a next step. This step is a two person job because of needing to move the power unit while someone on the engine side lines up the bolt holes.[IMG]
[/IMG] In this next shot, you must remove the passenger side front tire to drill access holes around the radiator crossmember. These holes are drilled through fiberglass and allow you to bring the AC connections from the engine compartment to the condenser in front of the radiator. Here templates are supplied to guide you. Worked very slick.

[/IMG] Condensor installed. Did I mention that the only way you are going to do this properly is to remove the hood? That's ok, the directions advise same. Just mark the hinges where they bolt to the hood and you can re-install the hood with no problems.

[/IMG] Here you can see that I went for the polished compressor($49.00 extra). and then I bought a billet compressor bracket from zoops (Classic credited me another $49.00 because I was not using their steel bracket).
