I saw a 3 part system type in one of the major suppliers catalogs, but can't remember or find it now. I think it's a kind of cad plating look you get. I just took all the black paint a previous owner put on mine off and then polished it up as best I could.

Not sure about the color of your actuator but I color buffed my M/C cover.

It is better than paint. It is easy to refresh and you can buff out the scratches after raising the bails.
You could probably mix a close color for your actuator.
I used Grecian gold on my carb.
With some experimentation in color mixing you could probably emulate the "correct" color pretty close.
