I just installed a new 2.5" exhaust hanger bracket on the tranny and was looking at the rear mount relationship. In the picture you'll see about a 1/4" gap between the top of the original mount and the new pipe hanger. Since I don't have it in the car I don't remember if the old one was the same? Anyone know or have a picture of one installed?
Thanks,
Gary

Give me a few more hours and I will be able to take some pics of mine before I take it out. I'll try to have something for you by early this afternoon.
Greg
Guess what, you're correct I put the freaking thing on backwards and didn't pickup on it until mentioned it! Thanks, I'll swap it back and see how it looks and snap another picture
Gary
Well here's what it should look like with the hanger in the correct position. Thanks Greg,I probably wouldn't have picked up on that until I had the eng/tranny back in the car!
Here's the mount now, maybe my original question is now pointless.

Too late, I already took the pics for ya.
First two are still in the car with the crossmember in the way.
I think these two might show you what you were looking for.
As you can see, my mount may not be the best thing to judge with though.
I can now say with complete authority that it is possible for one man to remove a TH400 transmission from a 73 corvette using nothing more than two jacks and a bunch of two by fours. I would not reccommend it though.
Thanks Kevin. What are you going to do with yours, rebuild or replace?
Gary
I am in the process of installing a new 383 and sidepipes in my vette. My tranny works find, except for the loose bolts that hold the tailshaft housing on it, so I am just going to clean it up and install new seals and gaskets all around.
Oh, I think I might want to get a new rear mount while I am at it too.
