Default Wiper door pix needed

If anyone could post a pix of their wiper door and grill area I would be most appreciative. This would be only for '68 thru '72's of course. I am restoring mine and would like to see how they fit next to the windshield and to the grill. A pix of the wiper door open would be a plus also.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has such a picture(s).

Regards, Mark

Jay, thanks very much!!! Those are very nice pictures!!

Do you use the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the wiper door? They would, I guess, "cushion" the grill when the wiper door opens.

I put on some new ones but they seem to be rubbing against the grill (when wiper door opens). I was thinking about removing them and seeing if that made any difference? Do you have any interference?

Also, was wondering if lubricating the wiper door hinges would be a good idea or not. I have previously lubricated some items (lawnmower throttle cable for one) that really worked better w/out the lube. This looks like the wiper door is "locked" when open or closed so my concern about the lubrication causing the wiper door to open or close improperly is probably unfounded. Then again, I wonder if GM really expected anyone to lubricate the wiper door mechanism? Maybe it doesn't need the lube. Any thoughts?

Finally, looks like your wiper door trim is painted up to the lip which is left in chrome/stainless finish. Most pix I see of 'vettes show this style of painting. Does this seem to be correct vs painting the whole thing or perhaps not painting it at all?

Many thanks. Nice pix!!

Regards, Mark

Nice pics. The trim is painted like it should have been painted from the factory. This is one item I have been waiting on. My main trim for the wiper door had a big ding right in the center that could not be fixed. I had to locate another to use as a replacement. Now I just have to get the trim painted, installed and the car will be finished.
