76 corvette hatchback
i am redoing a 76 vette hatchback for a customer i dont think it was a kit i have a feeling it was a factory option ...i went to the chevy dealer and looked on there microfiche and it had a slight listing and some notations on a hatch back looking peice ..the glass in it is definatly gm as it has the same markings on it as the rest of the glass ....and i need a few parts for the hatch such as a new seal ,eletric trunk latches ,gas struts to hold it up ....if anyone has any info on this and could pass it on it would be greatly apricated ...

I've seen a '76 that was converted to a '78 rear clip. In this case, it sounds like they went one step further and installed an '82 hatchback, which was only available on the '82 Collector Edition cars, and for a short while as an aftermarket option.
Parts are hard to find; replacement hinges are non-existent. You'll have to be creative in fixing it. Good luck!

Definitly sounds like one of those kits...one thing we can say for sure is that there was NO option for a hatchback in 76. The collectors edition in 82 came with one and I believe even that wasnt an option but was standard (could be mistaken there)

yep i would say thats the same kit just done a hair differently...i thought it was a kit orgianlly ..thanks any info is apricated ..this isnt my first vette rebuilt just the fist hatchback i messed with ..........thanks for your time
