Default Compression change

On my '72 L48 engine how much of an increase in compression can I expect to see if I install these "186" heads. Would I be better off just installing a brand new set of aftermarket heads? Let me know what you all think
Thanks!

Depends on the chamber cc volumne difference between the heads. If you're going to do the work, I'd spend the extra bucks and get a modern aluminum head.

Those will make a mild motor jump in performance. You gain about one point of compression going from 76cc to 64cc or so. It's not enough to require super unleaded. But it's the first step in getting a L-48 or L-82 going. I ran those for years.
