I had said that I would do this some time ago but just haven't had the time. These are AM Cobalts, the panel over the wheel is 5/16 aluminum plate, the bezel isn't installed yet. I haven't done the center panel yet. Keep in mind this is no where near completed. The links all work now, I spelled one wrong.
Looks pretty nice.
Why does it look like your blinker stalk is bent ?
This is my first vette, so I don't know if it is supposed to be that way. I did look at someone else's pic on another site and his turn signal arm looked like mine. It was a '78.
Thanks all. This is just the general layout to see if I liked it or not. I think it's kind of so-so as it is but would welcome any suggestions. AM didn't have a 5" tach or speedo in this style when I bought them. It really looks cool at night though. How about using covers? Any suggestions?
good job! I understand the plate over the sterring wheel , how did yu fabricate the bezels for the istrument console or are those stock bezels?
I'm not sure if you mean the retainer rings on the gauges or the angle rings? The retainer rings are part of the gauge housings and I bought the angle rings from AM to see they look angled. (They only cost about $20 total) There is a drawback though. The angle rings cause them to reflect light from the back window and make some hard to read.
I love the look of the Cobalts. I really wanted to do my gauges with them but then I saw the price!!! They look really cool the way you have them set up. Where did you put the turn signals, high beam, and check engine lights? (Is that them between the oil pressure and water temp?)

Yup, I nearly choked when I got the bill.
The turn and hi-beam indicaters are the LED's between the oil and water, the yellow light is brake warning. I wanted to use stock lenses but there just wasn't room. I used a stock "Check Engine" lens from a '82 in the stock location in the center stack. It fit perfectly. Also found out how to utilize the low fuel light on corvettefaq and will do that before I'm done.
Eddie70: No night shots yet. I suppose I should because that's where these gauges really come into their own.
