Default How can this be?

Hi new guy here,I had my test light hooked to a ground checking a wire to see if it was hot, nothing. Clipped on positive termanel and touched it and it lit. Traced the wire back to fuse box and started touching the end of all the fuses and every one lit up, seemed like it was positive grounded. Started the car and checked again nothing switched the test light back to negitive gound and all was normal.

hi pete welcome....not sure i'm following the symptons.... So your test light did not work on a wire... and then it did when you hit the fuse box.....if the wire you originally tested is suppose to be hot .. the wire you traced back could be broken in between where you originally tested it and the fuse box, or it could be a switched wire (power turns on with ignition switch) in our cars the grounds are always a nuisance... make sure they are all clean... I do not understand what you are trying to tell us about negative vs. positive ground.

Try the same test with a voltmeter.
