Paranoid about destroying engine...
Because I can't find one of my size-75 jets for my carburetor. I was working on it one night, came back the next morning, and only one of the jets was loosely seated in its hole... the other was nowhere to be found and I can't remember for the life of me where I put it. It wasn't with the other carb parts and I'm scared s%tless that I dropped it down the secondaries into the intake manifold.
I didn't realize it wasn't with the other parts until after I had started it, tuned it, and driven it. There is an audible rattle coming from the engine, although performance is great. I've heard that the valves can "chatter" but it really sounds like something is loose in there.
I would think that as soon as a piston tries to compress the jet, it would break the crankshaft, camshaft, or a rod. So my game should be over already.
Is there any other way a jet could be "loose" in the engine? Is this typically what valve chatter sounds like? Thanks all.
Dave
I suppose I'll have to take it to a shop to get it endoscoped.
