Default Corvette weight

Anybody know the curb weight of a 75 corvette coupe. I'm trying to figure out how much weight I've shaved off with various mods and new alum. cylinder heads but I come up with conflicting weights from different sources. One says 3550 and another 3650.

I have a 75 and with a big block it was exactly 3500 pounds with a full tank of gas. I am afraid it too has lightening parts in it so that is not a stock weight. Besides a 75 never came with a bigblock.

simple, you just pick it up and stand on the scale, record the weight.
Then you stand on the scale without the car, record the weight. The difference between the two numbers is the weight of the car!

Actually thats how I weighed my alum intake. It wouldn't register on my scale at home. My car on the other hand might not fit on the scale

According to Corvette Action Center the weight is 3690 with the above conditions.

They have a scale for weighing trucks locally here. A few of my friends have weighed their cars for 2 bucks!

If my 75 was on the road I would take it up there, but its not...so I won't.

Yes please don't tow your car out there just to get it weighed. I don't need to know that bad.

1 more reason to take it to the track! Most tracks have a scale you can drive on and read the weight right from your car. Get out and check it without driver if you like. My 68 vert is usually around 3650 with me in it.

We have a land fill site a few miles from here and I weigh in and weigh out, both agreed at 3700 pounds with me in the car weighing 194 pounds. That puts my car at 3500 with the big block and a full tank of gas. Hopefully the oil and water were topped up.

About C3 weights in general: The factory AIM, at least for early C3 years, quotes weights in terms of shipping weights. This includes full weight of coolant and oil and (am I correct?) 5 gallons of gasoline. Gasoline is, I think, 6.35 pounds per US gallon.

I was surprised to see the weights for the 1975 Convertible. My 1968 SB 350/327 Convertible, which included a cast iron intake manifold, and of course cast iron heads and water pump, steel wheels, etc. is listed in the AIM with a shipping weight of 3070 pounds. With weights being quoted for the 1975 Convertible being around 3500 pounds, it looks like the safety features/bumpers, etc added quite a bit of weight. With the aluminum in my ZZ4, aluminum wheels, fiberglass spring, aluminum calipers, etc., I think my weight will be somewhere around 2850 pounds. (Offset trailing arms, extra heavy roll bars were weight uppers.)

I'm suprised at weight of these cars----I have weighed my 76 coupe w/383 4-speed at 3 local truck stops.....t-tops off, spare tire removed, 1/2 tank of gas, and aluminum heads, intake and mini starter, no A/C or pwr windows......total weight=3100 lbs without driver. does a big block weigh that much more???? no wonder people run big inch small blocks

A 540 Dart Big M block is 20 lbs lighter than a 454 block

...just for interest sake (I was surprised)
