It all started out as a heater core replacement. Then the "as long as you're this far" monster snuck in and took over.
At least it removed the 30 year old Yak fur insulation before it left.
I am glad he left my house and went to yours!
While you have it out make sure you put some foil under the new YAK FUR or whatever you use. I used the $6 a roll foil tape from Home Depot. It worked great. I used 3 rolls to dothe whole interior. Did double layers in the footwells. Made a huge difference.
WOW...for a second there i seriously thought i was looking at my own interior good luck with the project!!!!! and make sure to take pics of your progress-Danny
I did that two years ago, and finished it this summer....with many more extra things done than I had planned. I went through the total interior tear out/rebuild 4 years ago and there were some things that nagged at me, so I did it all over again. Here's my advice.....all of the "underneath" stuff, i.e. wiring, vacuum lines, ductwork...make sure it's all perfect before you put it back together or you will second guess yourself until you tear it apart again. Also, as another guy mentioned, throw down some Dynamat Xtreme or other brand of sound deadening/heat insulating material while you are down there. Lastly, have patience, you are gonna need it! Good luck!
