half shaft problem!

half shaft problem!
I was under my 69 corvette today, and noticed the inner half shaft u-joint bearing cup, has been walking itself around inside the u-joint clamps, scarry stuff!! I don't know how long they have been like that, but is this a comon problem and easy to fix?
Also, what corvettes had 3 inch half shafts verses 2.5 inch half shafts?

2.5 inch are early, 3" are older years - I think they changed in 73 or 74.
I'm confused at what you mean in your first post. Can you post
a pic that shows it ? Maybe someone installed the wrong
