Default driving without a hood is AWESOME!!

So this week i have been workin on the headlights and in order to take the actuators out i decided to pull the hood off, it was pretty easy, just 6 bolts. So i decided to look alittle redneck so I took it for a spin. It was amazing! I could see the engine torque when i revved the engine and it had SOOO much more power (keep in mind i have a 190 horse l-48. I was getting side ways at stops, and when i would nail it in first i it would brake loose for a bit ( the damp road kinda helped i guess). But it was pretty fun, now im back home and still frustrated that the headlights dont work any better

Losing the hood saves about 75 lbs and allows the engine to breath better. Seriously, however, does anyone know which states have laws prohibiting driving w/o a hood?

Problem is you have to have a pretty engine otherwise it is redneck.

75 llbs seems a little high. You got an anvil attached to your hood?

Haha, it was fun as he** drivin it though, i dont care how redneck i looked. My community around here is mostly guys in BMWs and soccermoms and suvs...so when they drive by my house and they see the exaust pipes in the yard I get looks too. It was killer though, and being 17 its lots of fun getting looks form people
The hood goes back on tomorow though, *sigh*

There is a place around here that does custom carbon fibre work, their slogan is "you name it, we can do it" I was going to get the hood copied in carbon fibre (painted of course) I wonder if other parts of the body could be replaced..
