Wow, that guy is acting like my 2 year old, the maturity level seems a little low. Surely that post isn't for real.Of course now that I think about it, there is the slightest chance I acted the same way when it came time to buy my Vette. DOH!
If he can afford it I don't see the problem. I would lay down a bet that there is more to it than what is coming out in the post. Maybe she wanted to get bigger diamond earings and he bulked at the idea. He should have just bought the damm thing and said he bought it for her (of course you don't give her a set keys).
Teenagers....what happened to communication, the most vital ingredient of a successful marriage?
I hope there are not too many women on the forum reading that male chauvinist crap....I know that some are joking, but there are some digs to be sensed between the lines too...
One funny thing: "The M3 makes your butt look big."
Seriously, what is the deal with all the animosity between married couples? Guys at bars and work complaining about the old lady (and vice versa). I guess I'm priviledged to have parents who get along so well! (And a girlfriend of 2 years who appreciates my Corvette obsession... and wants a C6 )

It's starting to get nasty over there on that thread.
But what do I know? If I wanted a C6, my wife would look at me funny and say, "Okay, whatever you want." But it's not an issue. Every time I've test driven a C5 or C6 (yes, I've had the pleasure), I've been tempted (and I could afford it)...but the answer in my head always becomes "no." The C3 is the only Corvette for me!
with about everyone above. The person maybe acting a little inmature and there must be another side of the story. However, who knows how dominating his spouse is trying to be. I also agree that if he's got the coin and is not putting an undue crimp on his family obgligations, then he should go for it but tactfully. Otherwise, as most of you know, he'll be paying for it in the end.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
