Finally!
Huh??
Sucker was warped. Put on a Performer RPM. I haven't driven it yet, but it sure idles better, or maybe that's just me.
The Weiand I had on there, if you set it on the engine without gaskets, it would rock back and forth about 1/16". The Performer was rock steady. Maybe now it will seal and I'll quit pushing oil through the PCV and such. What a relief!

glad you found the problem.
It came from Ebay. Live and learn...
Summerfun:
The leak was not from the outside of the intake. The vacuum created by the engine combined with the warped intake was allowing oil to be sucked into the intake ports of the heads causing excessive blowby. It seeps out of the spark plug holes and the excessive blowby sends oil straight out the pcv. And the cycle repeats, I had oil all on the inside of the carb, on the intake valves, fouled plugs, it was a mess!
New intake, new plugs, carb cleaner and the water trick, I've got a much happier engine now and I'm much happier, too!
Camaroneil:
When you pull your intake, after you've cleaned up the mounting surfaces, set your intake on the engine without gaskets. If it rocks at all, it's warped. Trash it and get a new one. If it doesn't rock, your problem lies elsewhere. My engine was rebuilt in June, so I new it wasn't rings or valve train, that left the intake. If you have oil flowing thru your pcv and seeping out from the spark plugs, you have sealing problems with your intake.

sounds like you found your problem. These kind of issues will drive you nuts.
