Default Initial feedback on Keisler modified TKO500...

Drove car for first time with new trans and new motor. Impressed with the shifting of the new trans. I had a very nice shifting M20 and Hurst before, and this is considerably better, especially the 2-3 shift. Very short and crisp. Trans is fairly quiet and install went smooth. Reverse is tough to engage, but may get better as things loosen up.

If the TKO is anything like a t-5, reverse is not synchronised. It won't get any better, the trick is to put it in 5th and then put it in reverse.

Russ is correct. The TKO is not synchronized. However, you cannot go from 5th the reverse. It is internally locked out to prevent inadvertent engagement during normal driving. You have to go from 3rd or 4th (or 1st...or 2nd) to reverse.

What is the difference between a Keisler modified TKO500 and a w.c. T5? How does the price compare with a Tremec t-56? Does he make one that is "tipped" for 3rd gen f-bodies? I checked the sticky at the top of the page on the group purchase, but found no web site, just an e-mail address.

The shift quality of the forward gears improves with about 500 miles of driving.
As for reverse i always put it in 1st or 3rd before shifting into reverse. Prevents grinding.
