rear end gear ratio???
actually i feel kinda stupid for not knowing this as i used to know darn well what it is from the Tremec install i did...
but being an old, burned out hippie, i have forgotten...
what would the rear gear ratio be in my 79 L82? ??
were they all the same???

How do you forget something like this?
I always thought the standard for 4 speed L82 in 79 was a 3.70 rear.
If yo uare running around 2200 at 70 it is a 3.70 rear. That is what my 3.70 with the Tremec runs.

According to the data I have 79 vettes all had positraction and came in the following ratios.
3.36
3.55
3.70

turn the wheels and count the drive shaft revolutions?
is it recorded anywhere on the car? vin # etc?
