You must be talking about some of the C1 models.
The C1s had 1 headlight per side including the 1957 year.
In 1958 they went to 2 headlights per side.
1963 the C2s were introduced with retractable headlights 2 per side.
1968 the C3s were introduced with popup headlights, 2 per side.
1984 the C4s had popup headlights, 1 per side.
1997 the C5s had popup headlights 1 per side.
For the C6 introduced as a 2005 model, they look like they actually have 3 headlights per side. One large one and 2 smaller ones. See the photo at this website.
