Default Zip - ball joints problems !!

I rebuilt the front end completly using the C3 suspension kit from Zip Products. After only a very easy 2000 miles on the car the lower ball joints are junk. Any one else have problems with suspension parts from Zip?

Also does any have any recommendations of good ball joints to buy?

Thanks in advance
- Ron

I would use the Moog brand.

Moog is a good brand. I try to buy AC Delco. This was the original equipment. GMPartsDirect.com is a forum sponsor. You can buy from them. The GM Part number for the AC Delco upper control arm ball joint is 88911381 and the part number for the lower control arm ball joint is 88911514. They are still in stock. They may cost a few dollars more but when it comes to ball joints, who cares.

These part numbers work for 1968 and 1970 Corvettes. I assume they're OK for most of the C3's.

I've become very resistant to buying the unlabelled, no name parts sold by Corvette parts houses. Some of it is very low quality in my opinion. Buy name brands that have the reputation of quality. I replaced the original AC Delco ball joints on my 1968, just to renew everything. After 36 years, the originals were still in good condition.

I would contact ZIP before doing anything. What exactly has you describing the ball joints as "junk"? I find it difficult to believe that the poorest quality ball joints could wear out in 2000 miles, even without lubrication. Just curious.
