Default Some recommendations on pulley sets

I want to dress up the pulleys and saw some pics on the forum recently of someones engine with a nice Al V pulley set. I don't really care to change the ratios, just the look. Any recommendations on quality/pricing for a stock replacement set? What's involved in the serpentine conversion?

I recommend going with a March setup. I researched and researched and March had the best setup by far. March is also the only company that offers a direct bolt on for '63-'82 Corvette. With the other companies you have to mix and match kits. The pulleys are cheap around $200, but the sepentine kit cost me $700. You also have to buy a remote power steering pump and remote reservor. But to me it was WELL worth the hallse of possibling slinging beslts and you only have to worry about one belt instead of 2 or three.

Nevermind the rusty waterneck bolts, the intake is getting swapped for a single plane dominator over Christmas break.

I had the Zoops V-belt set up on mine (which included water pump, crank, alternator (and bracket) and AC compressor (and bracket)(I used a Sanden model 509 compressor) and they where of excellent quality and looks.

I recently changed to a Zoops serpentine set up that used the same brackets, just changed pulleys. I had to use a reverse rotation water pump but could use the stock saginaw keyway power steering pump.
I found them very helpful and they assisted me greatly when I wanted to make two custom idlers to balance the look of the system.

cheers,
Nick

Default Pully Systems

We have used the Vintage Air Front Runner Serpentine system. It is very compact compared to other systems. You will have to convert to electric fans with the serpentine system, but you will like it in the long run.

March pulleys is the way to go IMHO but if you go the way i did expect to shell out big money. my kit came with everything needed including the reverse flow water pump polished a/c compressor and the polished alt. but didnt come with the belt and a remote resovoir for the power steering wich i have to order here soon. you would think for the money that you are spending these little items would come with the kit.

Some great setups and recommendations. Thanks for the replies.

Nick, if you still have the vpulley setup, I would be interested.

Thx, Mark
