Got an extra Distributer Wire
I am getting close to finishing an Engine Swap. The Distrubuter on the engine has an extra wire that my original motor did not have.
In the pic below you can see the tach and Ignition Wire on the lower right. You can see the the two wires coming from the Tach filter on the middle left. You can see the wiring harness from the distributer base in the upper part of the Pic. There is an extra black wire coming from this connector that my old distributer did not have.
It is sharing the same connection at the right most wire on that connector. The color of the third wire on my old distributer was red. I think thats 12 volts with the ignition swich on so that would make the extra black wire hot with 12 volts. Because it wa black I first made the assumption it might be a ground but I don't think so if what I have stated above is correct.
Can anyone verify what I am thinking or know what's really going on here?

I'm pretty sure the info I stated above is correct. I checked the extra black wire and it's hot with the ignition key on and not with the key off.
I am thinking about using it for my electric choke. Any problems pulling power from the distributer for an electric choke?
