Well...LOL, I did next to nothing today, same as last few weeks. It's just too damn cold to do anything. Here's all that I have finished on the rear suspension apart from the forward brackets that bolt into where the trailing arm sat and the subframe that I welded to the body (no pics, I am not gonny lie down on the cold floor). These are the " new" trailing arms. Next are the rear hub mounting things...but I still don't have a set of used trailing arms. I hate it when everything grinds to a halt and I make no progress. Oh, I also made coil over mounts and sure enough, no pic of those either. Basically they are u shaped brackets w/ a standoff bushing welded in on one side and the other side the bushing slides in and is retained by the through bolt.
Oh yeah, I almost finished my own spreader bar but forgot to take pics DUH!, basically it's an aluminium rod w/ 5/8 rod ends, that's all.
I sandblasted the rear spindles, hand tightened the new wheel studs in, still need to paint the surfaces and then I'll press in the studs.
...so what did you all do?

Went to a hockey game last night and won $106 in a 50/50 drawing. Other than that, I have done nothing. Glad to hear someone is doing something. I hate winter weather.
I like the idea of the spreader bar made of aluminum. That will look great if it is polished up and then clear coated. You are always doing something neat IMO. Good work TT.
I forgot, I had a truckload of parts plated again, also have new solid bushings for the control arms (lower) and had those chromate dipped, all came out very nice. Same for old caliper brackets (not using them but shiny stuff sells better than rusty stuff) a bunch of spare headlight buckets, I noticed those are marked A B C & D, never noticed that before, is that the pos. on the car from left to right? If so, handy, no more messing about with which bucket belongs where.
Here's an example, I think it turned out pretty nice
The milled stuff like the bushings came out even better w/ beautiful color on them, don't have them handy so I can't take a pic.
As for the spreader bar, I'm not going to polish it. The sleeve is gold anodized.

I just completly took apart my drivers door. Lock assembly and latch assembly window out and regulater out. Nothing but a hollow door left. Need to clean everything and maybe a new roller or two. Adjust window glass and then its on to the passenger door. Pretty messy in there. Lots of paint and sanding dust got into the latch assembly.
I took the corvette to a swap meet & spent a total of 4 hours cruising around south Georgia with the top down, Bought a new fuel tank, a 1973 License plate and had a BLAST driving around the back roads all day.... Today I'll change my oil (time to change to Mobil 1) And I might head for the Shooting Range.
Just about nothing!
We cooked a pork shoulder yesterday and I watched a lot of TV. :o
Today I need to hang the Christmas lights on the garage.
I should probably re-rack my wine and cider too.
wow tt, that gold anodizing looks nice. Does it ever wear off or are those parts basically rust proof? I remember seeing a diy kit for that stuff, or maybe something similar to it. I wonder how good the diy stuff is? Oh yeah, all i accomplished this weekend was buying a t56 for the ls1 swap. Now my wallet is ALOT lighter.

It's not anodizing (since it' s not aluminium) but chromate dip after zinc plating. It is rust proof but that stuff is not really abrisive resistant, however the yellow (gold) is tougher than the silver.
It's not that expensive to have it done and the company that does it for me always delivers a top notch job so I figured why mess with it when they can do it cheap & good.
Here's another example:
I had several suspension items done, I'm bnot using the caliper brackets but I do need the steering arms, and the lower bushings are this color so they match the upper control arms & adjsutable ball joints. The adjsutable tie rod ends will be the same color also.

Had a very productive day yesterday. I have been dealing with a nagging problem on Project RamJet.....the throttle response has been very unpredictable. After a strong accelerations and then backing off the throttle I would experience a delayed engine surge. Pretty scary. Turned out I had a partial vacum leak that caused the Fuel Injection MAP sensor to sense a lagging unstable manafold apsolute pressure. Also the fuel pressure regulator swings fuel pressure +/- 5psi based on vacum reading. Made for a wild ride You probably guessed by now, I have leaking headlight vacum actuator relays I soaked the actuator O-ring seals in PB penetrating lubricant overnite and that seemed to have swelled them to a good seal. Anyone tried that before? how long does it last?
Well.......Saturday, I had so many good deals going I'm suprised I got anything else done. On my new acre of land there is a 77 cadallac that was dumped before I got here. Been scavaging a few chevy parts for the 73, LOL. It had a caddy 8trak with AM / FM stereo, popped it out and went throught it last week, but I needed an 8 trak to test it. Across from the shop where I work is an old fella named Don, He has a very large storage building full of stuff. He eats lunch with us ocasionaly and about once or twice a year he'll walk us through the buildings showing us stuff. Yesterday I got a pressure regulated portable air pump and tank for $25.00 cool, the switch was stiff but it sparked up and made 90 lbs. He had a box of 8 traks he gave to me there was an Elvis tape in there..LOL. and in the weeds he had a Camper shell that was just what I was looking for, for the 78 F250 , me and some buds lifted it onto the truck and it fit like it was made for it! Other than that..LOL I laid out all the parts of my steering column for por 15 and some bumper parts too. Didn't get to paint them though. Today I clean the Camper shell. Its realy just a topper, kinda 80's style fiberglass. Gotta get the tilt column outta that 77 caddy too might be good!
Looked at a volvo... 850, fella loses 1 quart over 125 miles. His intermediate block is leaking! That and every other gasket seaps... but... it DRIPS. But only after its been on the road. Got me! Ran it in place for a good 20 minutes, no new drips. Take it for a drive, its taking a leak.
Feel sorry for the guy.
On the vette... Didnt do squat! Workin on my engine parts list. Waiting on books to get here! (December...)
I went to a Corvette show yesterday around mid morning. Met some forum members, which is always enjoyable... I restained the cupholder on my '77 to match the rosewood console/instrument cluster in the afternoon, then I went out to dinner to celebrate my uncle's birthday last night. Today, I mowed the lawn and pressure washed the front porch, courtyard, and a 15 foot diameter planter in the front yard. After a running a few errands for Mrs Outrunm, I settled on the lanai with a cold beer and the laptop, and I am watching the race while chatting it up with you *****.
