Looks like they bolt to the stock positions, 3 bolts in the back, 2 in the front, dunno what that 3rd hole in the front is for but just maybe there's a hole there in the header bar?? (would have to check, not certain)
No I don't have the deminsons. But i need to know how the factory lights mounted because when I got my car there was a different front end on it with no stock parts here is a pic of the car when I got it. As you can see the guy that made the car was creative with metal bondo and fiberglass.
Oh, the stock lights mount to the nose bar and the header bar, the header bar is a v shaped bar that glues to tge body right behind the headlamp openings, the nose bar is the metal reinforcement that the bumper bolts to
Now if anyone has the deminsions of these or any ther type of recesed headlights could you let me know. I am going to experment with cardboard templets first. Then take it to a metal shop I am good friends with.
Yea he was creative but think of all the weight that he added to the already havey 75. Luckly I have the resources to make it a corvette again and reduce the weight to the stock weight. What are some good lights to put in those I posted before.

If you want to do what they were built for, you have to get the "capsules" that mount the bulbs to those buckets. The capsules have two peices of threaded stock that goes through the holes in the buckets and you put the nut on from the rear. When I bought my buckets at the swap meet, the guy wanted to keep the capsules. I said fine because he also said I could get those capsules off most any old car in the junk yard. NOT TRUE!!! At first I was pissed because I serched high and low to no avail trying to find those capsules. I am now happy because I ended up having to do a little engineering that worked out better for me in my opinion. I ended up mounting them flush with the buckets. If you go this route, you'll have to cut out the buckets so that the bulb can rest flush against them. You'll need very small bulbs (mine are from a 72' or 74' Datsun) and the trim rings they cam with. You just screw the trim ring into the buckets to hold the bulbs in. This sets the bulbs back far enough so that, if you want to, you can use the flat plexi lenses instead of the expensive and hard to find "bubble" lenses. Hope this helps!
Personally I would go with some better lights than the usual T3's. I would get a set of HID or at least halogen light that will fit in the buckets you have. Search on ebay and I'm sure you will find a set that will screw into the back of the buckets with no problem, and probably cheaper too!

If you are going to fabricate a set of this style lights then why not update while you are at it. I like the Hella light modules and would like to have a set of them myself. I saw a set fabbed for a C-5 at a Bowling Green show a couple of years ago.
I would also recommend looking at a 90's Camaro set of light modules. They are already staggered appropriately and their mount is complete with all adjusters and hardware. These would be a lot less trouble to make work. They are also a lot smaller in overall height and width. That alone may be the key to having a good fitting set up. jim

The Camaro uses a two light set that is staggered like you need, If for some reason they will not work, the same era '90s Gran Prix has this style module with the exception of each light being individually mounted and may be more flexible to mount as you may need. Jim
If you choose the Hella headlights don't get the 65W bulbs - this may be a little too much. I've seen cables melting after 65W (and higher) bulbs were installed. I'm not sure what the original bulbs are (50 or 55W)... I'd get the Hella #78175 H7 12V 55W bulbs
The older BMW have 4 single round headlights and there are many upgrades available, even the blue Xenon light, the outer diameter of those may fit. Do some research, this cold blue light is awesome.
I would think you could run the 65 watt bulbs if you use relays and the appropriately sized wire....not a huge job to do, nor an expensive one.
I agree, if you change the wire size. I've seen it burning after "upgrading" a VW from 50-80W bulbs to 65-100W ... pretty nasty when this happens, thank god it wasn't my car....
I've got a 91 GEO Storm that I am parting out. I am trying to figure out how to mount the headlights in my 70 Vette that has a 80 front clip. It sounds as if they are like the Camaro headlights. They are the small square lights and the stagger is the same as the original Vette lights. If they are mounted using the original lids and opening mechanism the lids will not have to come up as far and should add a bit to a more streamlined look.
