Most of the tri bar headlights I have seen have been 7" in diameter, never seen a 5.45" version........and at $60 a piece they are not cheap.

Tri-bars are halogens segmented into three equal parts, usually with a blue dot in the center. (Piaa.com I think has some photos)

I know that they make them for motorcycles, but don't know the diameter for that application.

Hey there TT.
I've never heard of LUCAS style, would you happen to know where I might find a photo of them?

They dont call lucas the dark lord for nothing...

Sorry...

A friend of mine was telling me about a service bulletin they recieved when he was working as a tech for Ferrari... A jab at Lucas, jaguar... and a couple of other manufacturers. Funny stuff... Letting smoke out of the wires, etc!

Been trying to find a copy!

LUCAS, the prince of darkness, anyone who has worked on english cars will curse them to hell....LUCAS electrical systems used on those cars is the single most unreliable crap out there, Italians are wiring gurus compared to them

LUCAS style lights are made by Sylvania, theý're the P700's

Cool, I like those, thanks TT. Dunno about the wiring though, have you ever seen a backwoods Ky redneck wiring job?
Thanks again.

Default Lucas

A little History on Lucas Electric. I worked for British Leyland Inc. During the mid 70's after the war. Now a V12 Jaguar with 12 pistons the size of medicine bottles ran like a scolded dog, when they all fired and the ignition was tight. But when it quit, it was allways an open electrical connection. Lucas had pretty much an exclusive to the manufacture of wiring harness' for cars like Jaguar / Triumph / Cooper / MG, even oddballs, not many seen in America like Abarth and Alpine had Lucas wiring. Now England allthough a bit larger than Japan is an Island, which includes Scotland. Their rescources are not never ending, and in WW2 Lucas supplied all the wiring for the now famous Spitfire fighter and the lite bomber Wellington. The tell tale is that in the early 40's when Brittan was getting whacked by the Germans all wireing was hand loomed, this ment they wrapped each set of wires in multiple harness' with a black cloth sticky tape, The rumor was that they were still using left over wiring from the bombers of WW2. This type of wireing was still prevelant in the automobiles produced and wired by Lucas in the 70's. Uck, just a little heat on a warm day, caused many shorts to ground. And it was a mess believe me. But a good straight six in 1570 lb. TR6 would scream!
