Default Carb/Intake clearance question

I am getting closer to getting my car back together, but I need a question answered before I buy a new intake and carb.

I have a stock 300 HP 350 in my '69, and I'm using the stock small block hood. Will an Edelbrock Performer EPS and Edelbrock (Carter AFB) carb fit under the hood in place of the stock intake and Q-Jet?

TIA-
Jeff

That depends.....

It fits on my 70 two different ways :

1 - 3" air filter with 2" drop base with about 5/8" to spare.
2 - 2" air filter with 1 1/4" drop base but I forget how much room is left.

There's not enough room for a flat base.

I have several combination sitting in my garage I can check for you if need be.

I have the OE base (I don't believe it's flat?), and a 2" filter.

Jeff, I don't have the OE base. If you measure it, I can help you determine if it will fit.

Here's some info about an air gap, don't know if it's the same height.

Tim -

assuming that it is indeed OE, the base I have puts the base of the filter 2-3/4" below the air horn. Also, I use a 3" filter, not the 2". Sounds like this should fit with the other intake and carb.

Thanks-
Jeff
