Will stock car wheels and tires fit in a 73? Corvettes have 4 inch back space right? I was looking in the summit magazine and they have 15x8 and 15x10. Do you think the 15x10 wheels will fit in the back? Also what is the bolt pattern? How many inches?
i have trial fitted a 27x10x15 on the stock rally wheel which is 8" wide with a 4" backspace. It fit my back with e-brake cable relocated. The front didn't fit. The tire is just too wide. They say the 10 inch tire is really a 12. I could make it fit by doing some trimming on the front fender but don't know if they will let me race with these tires anyway. Don't know if its worth it. I've been meaning to pick up a couple of Goodyear 26x8x15 slicks to try them.
The 10 or 12 inch slick will not fit with a 10" rim. Maybe the 8" slick will fit?
I'm curious, why do you want to run stock car tires?

I wanted to run stock car wheels because the tires are a lot cheaper. Do you think it whould be a better idea to get like 18 inch crw wheels with hoosier slicks. O yeah i was going to do scca so i wanted to get some slicks. If in the stock class you can upgrade brakes ill probally be going with the 18 inch wheels.

See my Picture section.
I run Basset NASCAR steel wheels. I have 15x8 with a three inch backspacing on the front with P265/50R15 ~26 static rolling radius (offset was to center the wheels in the flares). This also leaves 5 inches of front spacing. On the rear I use 15x10 with a 5 inch backspacing with a P295/50R15 ~a 27 inch tire. Also I have 1.75 VB&P spacers on the stock rear trailing arms to move the wheel out to clear the the E brake cable. I should say that I have ~3 inches of flare on the front and 6 inches or so on the rear. The staggered diameters gives the rake that I was looking for without modding the suspension.
One point to note this type of wheel usually requires a 1 inch lug nut with a 45 degree face!! Also note that the wheels should be DOT approved for a number of reasons. Racing wheels are not typically DOT approved. Basset makes a spun shell wheel that is thick enough to meet DOT requirements. Be sure to ask questions of your supplier.
When i finish my motor im taking my car down to my cousins shop to build a roll cage and stiffin the frame. He races trucks so he should have some extra sets of wheels. ill have to try them on.
