A couple of things:
I believe your nose emblem is incorrect. Should be a star burst as on the fuel filler lid.
Get a hose to connect up to your air cleaner snorkle and the air intake on top of the radiator. Cool air = more horsepower.

A properly tuned L48 in good running condition will run fine on 87 octane.
