1980 Headlight switch help!

1980 Headlight switch help!
Hey everyone
The vacuum portion of my headlight switch (brand new switch) fell apart - the leggs on the switch that hold the plate with the 2 vacuum ports weren't criped tight enough and when I was plugging the vacuum hoses in the plate fell off and the insides came out. There are 2 parts inside, a sliding plate and a thin metal reed. I am not sure how the parts go back in!!
Is anyone familiar with what I am talking about, or would anyone with an old broken switch be willing to take the plate off and see how the parts go back together?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!
