I have a 70 Vert that needs some adjusting. After the frame off, the car sits a little high. I plan on taking care of this problem over the winter... The new 2-post lift will be here next week, so its a perfect time to do it. For the front, I am going to cut the springs, but how do I adjust the back? I need to bring it down a bit to get my stance right. Take a look at my photo to see what I mean... There is a link to the left.
Put the nut lower on the bolt on the trailing arm that holds the spring, you may have to get longer bolts. Did you set the suspension settle after finishing, drive it around a little and such? My suspension will not settle completely until it is driven.
Yea, I put a couple thousand miles on. I figured it would settle as well, but it never did. I also figured that I just had to lower that nut to lower the rear, just wanted to make sure though...
I cut my front 460lbs springs for the same reason - it was sitting too high. The front suspension was great before I cut the springs ( I cut 3/4 coil ) - now it is a little too soft for me and I'll very likely buy the 550lbs springs soon.... these are supposed to lower the front 1" without cutting.
For the rear I bought the 8" bolts for $19.99 at Ecklers, I could not find any bolts longer than 6" at the local hardware stores so I had to spend the $20.... pretty expensive for two silly bolts.... at www.mcmastercarr.com you can get these for $4 a piece (Grade 8, 1/2" thread, 8" or 10" long)... but they overcharge on shipping...
