12 volts for timing light?
I have a 1976 with L48 motor and 4 speed. Where is a good spot to grab 12 V. for my brand new timing light?
It has the clamp that goes around the plug wire and then the other two for ground and 12 V.
thanks

That pic is perfect, just missing one thing: the plug wire sensor melting on the header tube.
At least that's how mine is usually set up

Ask tsw71 about that one!
His caught fire during a cam break-in on my 78.

You can hook up the pickup on the No.1 wire close to the distributor cap. No need to burn the wire on the headers when hooked up that way.

I have always used the +12v terminal for the horn relay (located on the inside left fender).....this is safely away from headers & other heat sources.

Same here. Except I did try to use the 12V lead on the coil...once...ok, maybe twice
