1/2 shafts and u-joints
1st----which is the BEST 
(stock vette-non-racer) u-joints for the 1/2 shafts. greasable--or--non-greasable
2nd----does it matter (when installing) about the EXCAT
position of the 1/2 shaft to the diff. and trailing arm.

For "low" performance applications (I'd say around 300HP) the "low buck" AutoZone U-joints are just fine. They're about $14 a piece and mine did not break so far... knock on wood...

No it does not matter how they go back in. The 1/2 shafts when going around corners rotate at different speeds so they will not stay in the position you put them in.
