I put full synthetic in mine. Didnt seem to make any difference. I know alot of the newer trans just use normal atf, not sure if that is ok with an m20 though.

What weight !!!??? M-20 should be using at least a 75w oil (gear lube). If synthetic comes in that weight then AOK.
I have always used a premium gear lube 75w and would change at least once a year. LOTA guys forget to change the manual trans. fluid on a regular basis (not every 3,000 miles )
