I am getting ready to paint my 74. My 2 left tail lights removed easily because the were screw mount style. My 2 right tail light however have no visible outside screws (different years). While trying to figure out how to get out the right tail lights I broke the lens' trying to twist them. So... Any idea what the trick is to get them out?
Also, since I broke them does anyone know what years would fit in my bumper? My vette is a 74 stingray, but the rear bumper does not have the seam down the center (not an orig 74 bumper?).
74 tail lights are 74 only and you have to remove the nuts from behind (back of the housing) to remove the lights.

1974 Corvettes were the ONLY C3 to have those "non-exposed" tailight screws making them a '74 ONLY tailight. The '74 is also the only rubber bumpered C3 where the tailights were actually mounted independently of the rear bumper. You'll see the difference if you look at pics of replacement bumpers in various vendor catalogs. '75-'82 Corvette tailights kind of mounted "in the bumper" whereas '74's bumper "fit over" the tailights. Your rear bumper must be some kind of aftermarket unit.
Pic of my '75's rear bumper where I could show how the tailight holes are compared to a '74, but not enough lighting.
