LS1 Truck Engine???
Any one ever heard of an 2002 LS1 engine with a 'truck' intake manifold and oil pan? Sound kinda odd....

its the same design as an LS1, for some good power increases on an LS1 or LS6 slap on a set of truck heads
I'm NOT kidding

My Avalanche has a 5.3L LS based motor. 285 HP. Not too bad.
I was thinking that if I ever did an LS motor swap for the Vette that I would use the 6.0 truck motor and add a bigger cam and LS6 manifold. Would be a bit cheaper than a Vette LS1 or LS6.

It is no improvement for the LS6. The 6.0L heads are LS6 heads with bigger chambers.

Also, unless GM changed recently the truck LS1's block in cast iron.

Chevy High Performance did a series of articles recently comparing LS1 intake manifolds and the truck manifold was about equivalent to the LS6 manifold for power. It actually produced more torque than the LS6 manifold. The downsides to the truck manifold is that it is taller than the LS1 so clearance might be a problem, and it is butt ugly. It looks like a turd with fuel injector ports.

80lb or so weight penalty. But, the iron block can be easily overbored (no sleeves).
The 6.0 truck motor with the good heads and lower compression is a great basis for a supercharged motor.

Hmmmm....
Don't get me started. I'll never get this thing done and I'll go broke.

I dont think the few extra cubes from a .030 or even .060 bore is enough to justify the 95 pounds difference.

I think 04 or 05 is the first year the truck engines went to aluminum.
