How much would you charge for this work??
I brought my car into a local 'Corvette Specialist' to tune the carb and also to work out some bugs I had.
Anyway, I'll list what I asked them to do and you guys let me know what you think a fair price would be for all of the work.
1] Remove A.I.R. pump (one bolt I couldn't get to)
2] Change Oil ($30 max)
3] Hook up Vacuum accessories: Brake Booster, A/C, Headlights, Transmission (a couple of hoses and tee fittings that I provided)
4] Tune Carb
5] Check: Valve covers, intake, fuel line, carb for leaks
6] Connect Throttle Cable and Transmission kickdown cable properly
7] Set timing
8] Fix Wipers – They hit each other (no parts, just adjustment)
They put in 2 used wires to replace a couple that were bad...
For what they charged me you'd think they changed the plugs and wires
I'll wait for a few of your 'estimates' then I'll let you know what they charged me.

probably about $600 U.S.
i don't think thats fair but if you didn't ask for an estimate they are going to nail you.
probably $300 is fair. If they don't need to replace anything.

Labour is about $80/hr Canadian these days for non-dealerships. I would say about 4 hours: $320.

The place I go to charges $75.00/hr labor. The labor expense is always higher than the cost of the parts. They have always done a good job on things that I'm unable ,or don't have the time or tools ,to do.
