water pump question

whats the difference between the long and short water pump...any performance difference.....

Although there may be some differences, the basic difference is that the "long" water pump has a pully further from the engine block than does the "short" pump. I think for the most part, the actual pumps are the pretty much the same. For whatever car you're looking at, the pulleys and accessory brackets are all designed to match the water pump pulley. Whatever your car has, a long or short water pump, you've got to keep it unless you want to start changing accessory brackets, etc.
