My front left brake caliper just gave up and pulling air into the system (again). I rebuilt the 4 calipers four years ago and I know the bores are scuffed, that's why it ate up my rebuild. I am now contemplating on a stainless sleeved caliper replacement but can not decide on which one to get, VB&P's or Muskegon's caliper kit? Please help me decide.
Both are great vendors, you won't be disappointed with either of them. VBP is running some specials, may want to call and see what they can do for you.
I have no idea as to which vendors do their own sleeving for the caliper. I would think it's fairly tough to screw up when rebuilding calipers, unless it is your first time. Some vendors may bore the caliper and install the sleeve themselves while others may sub that out. Putting in the springs, pistons, and dust seals can be done by the vendor or outsourced. I would rather have the vendor do the final assembly so they can be sure that it's done right and meets their quality control.
