Default 1980 L82 Pollution test

I have a 1980 L82 which will have to pass emissions soon It is stripped of all emissions equiptment and has headers with no catalytic converters . Is there any hope for a pass ? Or should I just apply for the antique plates I dont want.I live in Plainfield Il . thanks, Dan

The Help Forum where you posted this is for questions and help on using the Forum. For your questions above, you might want to try either the C3 Corvettes section or the Great Lakes region of the Forum. Good luck.

I don't know what Illinois' testing procedure is, and if they look for missing smog equipment, but my '77 L48 passes the more strict version of the Missouri test (uses a dyno/treadmill for at-speed tests, not just idle testing) without a problem - in fact it runs as clean as most modern cars. All factory smog junk is gone, no catalytic converters, true dual exhaust, but it has the stock cast-iron manifolds.
