Im no expert here but the BBC used a different resevoir and dual pulley. I just used my small block one but had to put on a dual pulley to stop it slipping. I had to change the bracket too as the small block one didnt bolt up to the crate motor. Works fine now.

I've interchanged power steering pumps between a big block 1969 and a 1968 small block and didn't perceive any differences as far as the pump goes. Brackets and pulleys are different. I also have a power steering pump of 1991 vintage that has a serpentine pressed on pulley and metric output lines. My 1969 power steering pump had a bolt on pully. As far as I've been able to determine, it's basically the same pump as my 1968 and 1969's (however for these pumps they have english threaded high pressure output lines.) All of the pumps I'm talking about here are those known as the ham can pumps. That is they have a built in reservoir, and the basic housing is stamped steel that looks like a miniture ham can with, of course, the cyindrical filler tube for adding power steering fluid. As far as I know the pressure output of these pumps has remained unchanged over all of the years. (1966 to 1991). I'd be interested to know if there some differences among the ham can power steering pumps.
